How to use Raid Controller cards where drives connect via extension cable?
Here is an example of what I mean:

Obviously you don't connect the drives directly to the card. The included cables I gather would connect to an enclosure for the drives. More information on this would be appreciated.
For those who want to chime in their 2ยข opinions with unhelpful answers:
Please keep opinions of the example card to yourself. I came across it and wanted to learn more about the aspects of using such a design. I'm not supporting nor endorsing the product, nor am I considering purchasing it or any other like it at this time. It was the first result in a search on NewEgg.
I'm guessing the screenshot newegg has of the cables, that little bracket there gives you the sata ports needed. I would hope. I don't see any way of doing it either.
In general, I'd stay away from devices that require proprietary connectors.
It's also software RAID. Ick.
Aim for a controller that is hardware RAID.
If that doesn't matter to you, your motherboard probably already supports software RAID onboard, so this card wouldn't be needed. Just run sata cables out the back of the PC or use an adapter plate that has internal/external sata plugs (my Asus motherboard came with such an adapter by default for this purpose.
