Is 2GB of RAM enough for Windows 7 to run quickly and smoothly?
Walmart is having a pre-Black Friday electronics sale this weekend and in the sale is a Compaq laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium with 2GB of RAM. My mother's wanting one, but I'm questioning the 2GB of RAM a little bit. I know it'd do average business with that much memory, but considering Windows 7 is quite the advanced OS, would processes eat up a lot of the 2GB? Would it be quick for basic computer uses, like internet, word processing, and some multitasking?
2 gigs will run 7, but you want double that. At least. Then do yourself a favor and downgrade to xp. Lightning speed. 7 sucks anyways, in my opinion.
