how do i configure an n64 controller to a pc using a usb adaptor?

i recenty bought an adaptor (forget the brand) that allows me to use my n64 controller on the pc, so that i can use project 64 with a regular n64 controller. All of the buttons have worked perfectly fine so far, except for the joystick. Its range is very low, so i cant run or move quickly in game. I have tried going to options--> configure controls but that doesn't work, and i have tried calibrating it from the windows control panel but it still does not let me have a full range of motion. Any suggestions?

The only option you have is to configure the dead-zone in Options > configure controls. The Dead-zone of the controller is determined by the application that listens to it, not by the hardware itself. A dead-zone is simply the area or range the application chooses to ignore. Lower the dead-zone and you should get the results you want. If that doesn't work there's nothing much you can do.
